Dual Wield plugin updated to 2.55


I have posted an update to the dual wield plugin with the following changes:

  • Skills that have a weapon type requirement, in addition to being main or offhand only, will be disabled if the required weapon type is not being held in the specific hand.
    • If you have a skill that requires a dagger, and is an <Offhand Skill> it will not allow you to use this skill unless you have a dagger in your offhand, even if you have one in your main hand, the skill will be greyed out on the skill list window.
  • Skills that have specific weapon type requirements will no longer show weaponsprites for weapons that the skill could not be used with.
    • If you have a skill that requires a sword, and strikes three times, and wield a mace in your offhand, you will no longer see sword -> mace -> sword, it will only show the sword.
    • If you have a skill that requires a mace, and only strikes once, and your mace is in your offhand, the single weapon swing will be a mace.
    • In the above example, skills that are tagged as <Dualwield Skill> will also deal damage as if they were an actual offhand strike, or as if they were a skill tagged as an <Offhand Skill>. If the skill is not a dualwield skill, it will use the mainhand weapon damage in the damage calculation, which is the default functionality of all skills with this plugin.
    • In the event of a skill that requires one of two different weapon types that you happen to be dual wielding, the weapons will still alternate as normal. If that skill is a dualwield skill, the alternating hits will also use the weapon damage of the weapon being swung, otherwise, all hits will use the damage value of the main hand weapon.

Also, side note, not related to this update specifically, but still worth noting:

Normal skills that aren't tagged as mainhand, offhand, or dualwield only ever use the values of the mainhand weapon in both their damage calculations, and their trait effects. Offhand skills, naturally, use the traits of the offhand weapon, and dual wield skills alternate when possible. This update will make the weapon swing visually look like your offhand weapon when it shouldn't show the main hand weapon,  but it will not do the damage or have the traits of the offhand weapon unless the skill is tagged as a dualwield skill. Without tagging your skill, this update is a visual change only, to prevent, say a flurry of melee blows from being interspersed with a couple of crossbow shots in a large multihit action sequence because the actor had a sword and a crossbow equipped..
